Today, the group has grown to be one of the five largest Ophthalmology groups in California, with 18 doctors who represent each of the eye surgery and medical eye care specialties, including:

The sole mission of our dedicated, professional staff and doctors is to provide excellent, comprehensive patient care in a friendly, caring and efficient environment. Most of our surgeries are performed in our own state-of-the-art Surgery Center.

Dr. Corwin, a Harvard-trained retinal specialist, also oversees multiple research studies and coordinates Miramar's teaching of ophthalmology at the Ventura County Medical Center, a UCLA teaching hospital.

Dr. Corwin is a principal investigator for major pharmaceutical companies and the National Eye Institute. Miramar patients receive the newest therapies for glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and vascular occlusions.

Dr. John L. Davidson performs more surgery than any other doctor on the Central Coast for cataract, corneal transplantation, pediatric eye conditions and strabismus. He has performed laser vision correction since 1999. Dr. Davidson is the busiest cataract surgeon in Ventura, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles counties (according to the leading manufacturer of intraocular lens implants, or IOLs). He has been an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA since 1992. Dr. Davidson offers refractive lens exchange to minimize the need for glasses.

He has served as a principal investigator in an FDA phase IIIb trial of an anti-angiogenesis medication for Wet Age-Related Macular Degeneration called Lucentis.

These new medications have revolutionized treatment for AMD. His publications include work on Functional Outcomes of Cataract Surgery in Monocular Patients, a topic upon which very few articles have been written.
