Multifocal Intraocular Lenses

Photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) is a laser vision correction procedure that uses an excimer laser to reshape the cornea, correcting refractive errors without cutting a flap. This method preserves corneal strength and avoids risks associated with flap errors in LASIK. During PRK, the eyes are numbed with anesthetic drops, and a laser is used to precisely reshape the cornea, providing customized results. The entire procedure takes only a few minutes in the doctor’s office.

Strabismus, or crossed eyes, affects about 5% of children and many adults, causing visual impairment and potential blindness in the weaker eye. Surgery can correct the alignment and prevent further vision deterioration. This condition can be congenital or acquired from factors like eye injury, diabetes, or stroke.
