Dr. Emily Fant was born and raised outside of Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, where she was elected to the Sigma Xi Honors Research Society. She attended the Boston University School of Medicine and completed her Ophthalmology training at Tufts- New England Eye Center and the Tufts Affiliated Hospitals. Dr. Fant was awarded the Charles Preefer Prize for outstanding research and was chosen to serve as Chief Resident in her last year of training.
Dr. Fant was Board Certified by The American Board of Ophthalmology in 1987. She practiced in the Boston area, where she was selected to provide supervisory training to the Ophthalmology residents at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. She also provided surgical training to the ophthalmology residents at the Tufts affiliated hospitals.
Dr. Fant moved to Las Vegas in 1988, where she and her husband raised their three children. During that time, she was in private practice and served as Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, as well as at The Las Vegas Surgical Center. She was also the Medical Director at The TLC Laser Eye Center in Las Vegas.
Dr. Fant moved to Southern California in 2024, where she currently resides with her husband and two dogs. When she is not seeing patients, she enjoys cooking, needlework, gardening and traveling.
