Dr. Arezu Haghighi
Arezu Haghighi, M.D., received her undergraduate B.S. degree in Bioengineering at the University of California Berkeley. She then completed a year of research training at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland prior to her medical school training at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco.
After completing her internship in Internal Medicine at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center, she started her Ophthalmology Residency at LAC-USC Medical Center. In her final year she was honored to serve as a co-chief resident for the department. She then underwent an additional year of sub-specialized training by completing an advanced anterior segment and glaucoma fellowship at the renown Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Dr. Haghighi specializes in traditional and innovative glaucoma therapies including trabeculectomy, glaucoma drainage devices, all currently available Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgeries (MIGS) as well as routine and complex cataract surgeries (secondary lenses, traumatic cataracts, etc).
Dr. Haghighi has published and presented at national conferences. She is passionate about global health and has completed international projects in Thailand, India, and Iran. She is fluent in conversational Spanish and Farsi.
